The charge for this offense is a state jail felony with a range of punishment of a minimum of 180 days and a maximum of 2 years in a state jail facility. However, if the victim of this offense is an elderly person, the punishment is a third degree felony with a punishment of 2-10 years in prison. The charge and range of punishment is not dependant on the amount.You could be charged with 3 separate counts or 3 separate cases.
