Is Credit Card Theft considered to be a Felony or a Misdemeanor in Utah?

Sο hе’s getting charged wіth credit card theft аnd 8 counts οf actual theft. I want tο know іf credit card theft іѕ a Felony οr a Misdemeanor аnd hοw much time hе mау serve. And Whаt іѕ Theft? A Felony οr Misdemeanor, аnd hοw much time wіll hе serve fοr јυѕt one count? Wе live іn Utah.

Theft of credit card is punishable under the Penal Law especially when it is used fraudulently.

I think that it depends on whether or not he made fraudulent charges to the card and if so, how much those charges total to.

i think its according to the ammount stollen more than the times it was charged or what he used it for.

If the amount is under $100.00 it is a misdemeanor otherwise, it is a Felony no matter what State you live in. Though the laws vary from State to State, it is considered Fraud and under Federal Law.

In many states the charge of Grand Larceny usually comes with a value figure, i.e. in New York it is $1500. It is assumed that a Credit Card has at least that value and it is a Felony. If it is a first offense he could get as much as three yrs……more if he has been charged before
